My name is Michelle Mandus I am a secondary education major. I created the Language Forms and Functions page and helped with Discourse Elements pages. Enjoy! |
Rationale:
The purpose of this project was to study different language concepts in the English education setting; while taking into consideration the possible difficulties an ELL student would have with this subject matter. We looked into different forms and functions, grammatical patterns, discourse elements, language symbols and symbolism, and vocabulary of this content. We identified the different language demands that are specific to teaching English and explained each one in detail.
It is important to understand the challenges associated with learning the English content, so when teaching ELL students, we can make adjustments, to do our best to make the learning process as easy, and clear as possible. We choose to present our information through Weebly, because we felt it was easy to organize, user friendly and this form of media allowed us to separate our different ideas in a neat and organized way. The user-friendly features allow the reader to navigate through the information smoothly and efficiently. We also felt it was a unique and interesting way to present this information.
